This is a crucial step in the UK schools admission procedure. It would be great if you can meet us with references such as the school reports, awards, or public exam results for the last two years. This helps our consultants to give more in-depth and personalised advice.

Our education consultants will have 5 to 7 school suggestions for you.

We share with you both quantitative data such as public examination results and boarding student ratios, and also qualitative information such as school ethos and academic support of the recommended schools in order to help you make the right choice.

Parents or students usually choose only 3 to 5 schools from our recommended schools for final application because application fee, admission tests and interviews are required for each school applied. Thus, it would be more time and cost effective to submit 3 to 5 applications.

The application fee for each UK boarding school is usually from £75 to £350.

After selecting suitable schools, our consultants will share with you the application form for each school.

For the application fee, you can pay directly to each school and send the transfer receipt to us for follow-up. Alternatively, you can also submit the application fee to us and we can help to pay on behalf of you.

Our consultants will communicate with the UK schools you applied after the submission of application forms and fees. When we have received the test papers and interview schedule, you will be invited to our company for the admission tests and interviews.

In addition, some UK independent boarding schools require international students to provide a UKiset report when applying for admission. James-Lee Consultancy is a UKiset Authorized Test Centre. After the admission tests and interviews, we will receive the acceptance letter and relevant documents if you successfully obtain a place from a UK school. Our consultants will forward these documents to you, and will provide instructions and assistance in accepting the offer.

If you get an offer from more than one school, we will give advice to help you make the best choice.

The deposit for different UK schools varies greatly. Some schools are charging £500, but more are usually charging the full boarding fee for one term, which is around £13,000.

For students with a UK passport or right of abode, the UK schools admission procedures are already completed at this stage.

All UK boarding schools require a UK guardian for international students aged under 18.

All international students are required to apply for a UK student visa.

There are two main types of UK student visa, the Tier 4 (General) for students aged 16 or above, and Tier 4 (Child) for students aged under 16. A CAS (Confirmation of Acceptance for Studies) letter from the school is required for the application of both types of visa.

All UK schools will send an email to parents before the start of the school year, advising what preparation needs to be done and what forms need to be filled in, for example, extra-curricular activity form, subject selection form and school uniform ordering form.
