About the School
Newcastle High School for Girls is an independent day school a part of Girls’ Day School Trust (GDST). NHSG was formed in 2014 by the merger of Central Newcastle High School, and Newcastle upon Tyne Church High School.
NHSG has different approaches for different year groups: introducing the wonders of the world to 3+, sparking the intellectual curiosity of 7+, and challenging 16+ to engage with their learning at the highest possible level.

Exam Results and University Destinations
In 2022, at GCSE, 25% of the grades were 9 and 66.6% were 9-7. At A Level, 24% of the grades were A* and 50% were A*-A, with a pass rate of 100%.
In 2022, leavers went on to attend universities from across the UK in a wide-ranging of courses including Medicine, Dentistry, Environmental Sciences, Modern Languages, Politics, Fashion Marketing and Dance.
Extra-Curricular Activities
Some of the popular extra-curricular activities include coding club, choir, language leader, hockey, theatre club, and a lot more.
Facilities
There are first class facilities to help students learn without limits, including Science Terrace with science facilities and space for outdoor experiments, a sports hall built for a range of indoor sports, full-sized all-weather England Hockey approved pitch, and a lot more.
