About the School
Battle Abbey School is an independent boarding school with a mixture of modern academic outlook and traditional Christian values. Apart from academic development, the promotion of soft skills, self-confidence, concern for others, personal responsibility and leadership are also emphasized to achieve an all-round education.
Starting from Year 7, students can choose to become a full boarder to experience a school life in an international community.
Exam Results and University Destinations
In 2022, at GCSE, 12% of the grades were 9, and 43% were 9-7. At A-Level, 22% of the grades were A*, and 54% were A*-A, with a pass rate of 99%.
In 2022, a record proportion of leavers went on to Russell Group universities, such as University of Warwick, Durham University, LSE, and KCL.
Extra-Curricular Activities
The major sports run throughout the year are football, hockey and cricket for boys, and netball, rounders and mixed athletics for girls.
Other popular activities include Duke of Edinburgh Award, the small orchestra, History trips to Ypres, and a lot more.
Facilities
Some of the facilities in Battle Abbey School include 18th Century library, academic centres, multi-purpose Astro, and a six-lane 25-metre swimming pool.
There are also off-site sixth form centre and boarding houses to help sixth formers better transit to university or work.
